What type of stories do you prefer to read on this site?  Or what type would you prefer to read if people would write them?  I'm trying to generate some discussion on the (recently rather dead) forums.  And it should be an opportunity for writers to learn what the public wants.  ;D

By "Western media" I mean cartoons, movies, comic books, and other stuff made in the Western world.  We already have some fics (and artwork) falling into this category, but not a lot.

Gee, I can't pick.  I like them all, to be honest. I wish someone would write stuff on a bunch of Spider-Man TAS females, but I highly doubt many people have seen that series because it's a bit old...

I wouldn't mind seeing some fics on Crystalis's Mesia, either, so there's the video game part.

As for original characters, if it weren't for the fact that he's tired of them, I'd still like to read more fics on Anime Lover's Kimberly Starr.

The problem I often face is that most fics on this site tend to be either poop or other fetishes (most of AL's works), so I don't really read as much as I used to. Back in the day, though, I'd read everything AL put in front of me, lol

Nobody betta lay a finger on mah girl, Hotaru, or else!  xD

I said Western characters, but not necessarily because I like fics with anime and game characters any more, but since they constitute such a large portion of what's on this site, Western characters have a certain novelty about them. I'd like to see a bit more of a balance between the two.

Hmmm...I'm not sure if I discriminate based on the media the characters are portrayed in. The line is a bit blurry anyways, since I'm generally into the anime art style, but I've been exposed to it mostly through Japanese video games (i.e. Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid).

I'm voting for video games, but only because I associate it with the kind of girls I like. In the end, the thing that matters to me is the character herself. Specifically, I'm interested in the role reversal of fantasy warrior girls having an accident; I'm going to respond well to anything that features a situation like that, original character or not.

For me, I prefer anime girls since they have more *somewhat* more realistics proportions. Toon girls tend to be either so bizarrely drawn or have some weird feature that makes it hard to like them. Hard to say what exactly, but I've never been too crazy for the girls in the total drama series, and really none of the women in simpsons *although Marge has occasionally looked hot with her hair down* even before I saw how simpsons porn is just horrible no matter what.

Yet, I did think Jade from Jackie Chan was cute *even if extremely loli* and a few from As Told by Ginger. The girls in Mission Hill weren't too bad looking either. And of course Starfire and Raven were sexy, although it's hard to say if it was because of the slight anime design *although their physiques weren't quite as anime as the overused expressions* I mean, I personally would not care to see a story with DeeDee from Dexter's lab, or any of the powerpuff girls. Though Franky from Fosters was kinda cute.

Personally, I don't mind some western stories, but it's not to say there aren't characters who aren't a little appealing.

Is this the girl you're talking about, Orpheum?

I like original stories the best, but I enjoy the other varieties too (as you can tell from my reviews).  I wish there were more original stories, and more requests for original stories (since that's what I seem to be best at writing).  Only 20% of the challenges (not counting ones I made) are for original characters/universes.

I'd say it's a tossup between VG and western girls, because I don't follow hardly any anime.

But I also like original characters, so I guess I can view fics with anime characters I don't know as that.

OrpheumZero

Yep, that's Franky alright. I had forgot to say that I do like originals, but then again I've seen so many with Arthur I guess I just like seeing more based on anime/game girls here since it's like a less strict version of Fanfiction.net *although I have noticed that sometimes stories there can still get pretty kinky/adult*

But yea, it'd be nice to see more stories with original girls, since there are only a few.

Which Arthur are you talking about?  I'm confused.

I should say, the large body of anime/game fics on this site are what attracted me in the first place. I think it's what sets this place apart from anywhere else. As far as I know, original character stories are most of what you'll see elsewhere. Those can be good, but I always liked being able to look the character up and see a picture, or even better, already have an intimate understanding of the character in question.

Arthur Saxon. I'm sure you've seen a few of his stories. Although most would be not in your taste.

Agreed, there is something fun about writing a fic based on existing characters and creating stories that give them interesting depth *well, if Aisha really is that kinky minded and does habitually clog toilets :P* Then you get really creative ones like the Rachel series I wrote which fit in quite nicely *maybe not so much 3, but the first two could easily be lost 'Cases'* and Aluru's Dragon Quest stories were nice looks into the 'aftermath' of Jessica's time in the Abbey's prison.

I also went with video game girls, since I rarely watch anime anymore. However, I'm probably in a minority that would like to see a lot more fics and drawings starring those bizarrely-proportioned Western toon girls. However, that's almost more of a curiosity than something I'm really turned on by. (For example, what are the logistics of sitting on the toilet when you have the tiny legs most of those characters have?)

Jimmy Olsen

Yes, I remember Arthur Saxon's page.  It's just that your line "I've seen so many with Arthur" made me think you were talking about a character named Arthur.
