Lyrics to songs.

Believe or not, I actually try to write english lyrics for songs from time to time. Granted, it's not easy, as I have no real talent in that kind of thing compared to regular writting. But I have made some decent attempts at song lyrics, ones that could be used for English dubs.

I actually have been interested in trying to do some english dubs of songs, but have no clue as to what program to use. For one, it'd be nice if there was a way to make a 'cue' for when to start singing, since I'm not very good with karaoke versions of songs.

Anyway, here's some lyrics I adapted from a direct translation of Period, the 4th opening theme to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

We sigh whenever we're about to come to a another standstill
While moving forward on this endless journey

Every time that we lunged for it, it takes off and flies away
But now, there's nothing to be afraid of anymore!

The powerful ties that bind our hearts as one
Will never come loose or be torn apart

They certainly seem to 'flow' with the song nicely. But I'm open to any suggestions for changes. 'Course I wish I was better, since I'm eventually planning on doing a musical fanfiction with One Piece, but I just can't think of how to write songs and how it shoud be done so it's not a 'song-fic'.

As a guitarist/song writer I know how difficult it is. My lyrics are generally meh and to quote Steel panther "sound like Dr Seuss" meaning I usually end up writing in a simple aabb rhyme scheme or abba which makes me -_-.......

Granted I've never listened to the song as I don't really care for anime except for use in my own perversions hehe but the lyrics read well, good diction strong theme seem like solid lyrics to me.

Well I say you should reconsider and watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Broterhood. It's got to be one of the best series ever. The first anime was good, but the alternate story and character interpretations pale in comparison to the original manga/new series. And you're in luck if you're the type who likes to watch a series in bulk, the show will be ending on the 4th of July. From the music, to the epic storyline, it's earned a place on the same ranks as Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, and Vampire Hunter D.

I borrowed part of it from someone who wrote and sang a full english cover online, but adapted it.
