What anime do you think has too many fanfics for itself?

Tell me what you think. In my opinion, it is either Naruto, DBZ, Lucky Star, or Sailor Moon.  Anyone else got anything different.

I'd have to say Code Lyoko, and the Last Air Bender
Reason's being that I don't find the art in Code Lyoko attractive and I find the Last Air Bender too cartoonish, and on the topic of being too cartoonish I'm suprised:
- Mario
- Sonic
- and Total Drama Island
... are even categories, okay rant over and for the record I'm not posting to upset anyone, the way I see it if you're willing to spend your time writing about something I'm sure that particular something is important to you, and I respect that . Just thought I'd give an answer to Havik's peaked curiosity.

Thanks man. LOL, I like last air bender and Code Loyko ( After they get Aelita). the same goes for the rest. You ain't going to make anyone mad. I'm surprise you went for stuff I like, aside from Mario( Mario sports and marioparty is the only Mariostuff I like). Also for totally drama Island, I only like the first two seasons. Season 3 is boring and has too many characters.

I could say that I find myself surprised at the level of fiction my buddy Anime Lover writes for non-anime more cartoonish shows and commercial characters.

I mean, Erin E-surance? Brandy and Mr. Whiskers? Heh, I guess I'm just waiting for him to write one about the Flintstones or maybe Judy Jetson.

A lot of well known stuff has tons of fiction, Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece alone probably comprise a significant chunk of current fanfiction bulk. Granted, there are gems to be found in every thing, just depends on whether you have the patience to look for them (though I haven't really bothered to dig through Bleach and Naruto, but have found a few good One Piece stories). Then of course you get the shows/games/movies that barely had any fiction (Folklore for example only has like 15 fics) which could totally use some more attention, especially the ones that have enough open endedness to them for flexable "what-ifs".

Really though, it's not so much that there's "too much" fanfiction of one or more thing, just that a wide majority of the stuff is often the same:

*shoehorned romance (often with little to no explaination as to why)
*Mary Sue/Gary Stu original characters with badly made up names and usually just an expy of the author themself
*Dull, cliched plots like lost siblings, rehashed plot that already occured in canon, or simply random event

I agree with the sentiments about Totally Spies and the other cartoonish stuff.  The Erin Esurance one was really out of left field.

Seeing Jessica Rabbit at an impressionable age resulted in my interest in animated women in general. I can dig Erin, she should hook up with Flo from Progressive (though she's actually a real woman, oh the taboo!).

To the topic at hand, I know there's a ton of crap out for the more popular fandoms, and it does make finding good stuff hard. Quantity isn't so much the problem as quality. Many smaller ones still suffer from their own problems, like shippers of one couple writing cliche romance dominate the fandom, though its only 1% the size of say Naruto.

Really, all one can do is write stuff of your own.
