I enjoyed this quite a bit. I love the "clockwork bladder" angle, and the cover-up with the spilled water bottle was clever and unexplected. You also seem adept at descriptions. "Her eyes traced the path of that mysterious glimmer back to its source, and as soon as she did another little twinkle dropped from the front edge of Maki's chair. Then there was another, then another and another, each one sparkling in the sunlight like a tiny gemstone before shattering on the tile." Beautiful! The soap opera plot with its unrealistic behavior and unlikely pranks and love triangles wasn't my cup of tea. But the wetting and cover-up make it an enjoyable story.
